Sorry I haven’t posted for a while, but I had internet connection issues as well as Mojito issues while I was in Ibiza so couldn’t get online.
The season is going full force this year and the island is buzzing, even more so as Spain won the World Cup.
I did my usual pilgrimage to a Defected night; this year they are at Chinois in the posh marina area of Ibiza town. I will be posting about Chinois soon. Had a really great night and id like to big up the boys from Belgium and all the guys and girls from Cambridge if you ever read this, it always a pleasure to meet like-minded people. In my eyes the island has been changing for several years now, and this was really evident to me this year. The VIP culture is now taken over from the normal Joe Public that just want to rave, that’s me!!
I just want to get lost in the music on the dancefloor and have a great night. The clubs are pricing normal people out of this; I talked about it with several people whilst clubbing. Ticket process vary massively and are now getting out of hand. I understand some of the bigger artists can command a bigger fee, but their sets are getting shorter and are relying on support acts, the use of prerecorded sets is increasing and the public notice these things. Plus the drinks, OMG, at Chinois its 24 euros for a Vodka Red bull, 15 euros for a bottle of lager and 11 euros for a bottle of water, and all bar staff EXPECT a tip!
Shout out to people like DJ Billy Bunter, one of the rave scene OG’s and parties like Clockwork Orange for throwing a vinyl only night at Es Paradis, that’s DJing, not standing twiddling knobs!!
Anyway im going to stop whinging and get back to posting!
